You may want to undertake a methodical approach to sorting through your files. You can continuously transfer all of the pictures to an external disk drive or a CD to give yourself some extra space on your computer.

You can access free cloud-based storage if you use Apple, Google, or Microsoft products, with the choice to get storage upgrades. Four things to think about as you compare cloud storage options are collaboration, version control, security, and search ability.

The first thing to do is to make a copy of all the files you would like to keep and store them  on an external  drive or cloud service. Then completely clear your disk drive, and reinstall your OS. It is simple and straight-forward, and it is a useful tactic  you can employ when making major changes to your computer files.

This may sound like a dangerous process (and it could be), but that depends on your experience and on how carefully you complete each of the steps. It is the way to go if you want to start afresh.

After cleaning up the files, it is time to get to the ones that are hidden. Your laptop setup is filled with system log files, browser caches, and all kinds of other temporary files, most of which you have never seen before. Most of them are also completely unnecessary.

The processes your computer runs through when you use files or programs create tons of tiny, temporary files that help it retrieve the information you need faster. Clearing your computer of these can often help speed up its performance.
